April Longarm Challenge

Just for the record, the year 2016 is now one third of the way over, done, finished!  Where did that time go?  Deb, Barb, and I have challenged ourselves to complete at least one of our UFO's in 2016 each month.  At the beginning of each month, we have to send a photo of a UFO, in whatever stage it's in, to the other 2 members. We have all month to complete it (quilted, bound, labeled, done, finished).  No later than the last day of the month, we have to send another photo of the completed project.  If we don't finish, we have to complete a UFO from each of the other two.  Now that's an incentive to complete a UFO.  I have enough of my own things to do, I don't need to be adding to my pile, not that I would mind doing something for either of these two!

This month I finished way early.  I knew I had a cruise that would take up almost 2 weeks of the month and when we returned I would be hitting the ground running trying to complete the last of the packing, getting ready for a garage sale, and packing for one last minute fling with the King.  I finished my Kiss in the Corner UFO that I started at the retreat last July with Bonnie Hunter of Quiltville.  I love how it turned out.  I modified the borders to make it a little bigger.  You'll soon see it on one of the beds at The Queen's Rustic Retreat.

This is Barb's April UFO.  It looks very similar to her March UFO but it's a little different.  Same fabrics and outer border. They are quilts that are going on twin beds in the same room.

And this is Deb's April UFO completion.  The quilting is beautiful!

We've done it for 4 months now.  Can we keep it up?  We can do it, Yes we can!  May will be particularly challenging for me with the move but I'm confident I can do it.  I need the quilt for a bed at The Queen's Rustic Retreat!

  1. I cherish challenges and this was an incredible one. It's stunning to see the distinctive thoughts, decisions, and sewing styles. Two thumbs up. You are so appropriate about how time can make tracks in an opposite direction from you or come at you rapidly!!
