Oakleaf Wool Applique Quilt

This is another quilt I wanted to finish before I left on my San Antonio Texas trip.  I'm so happy I did.  First of all, I can deliver it in person, and second of all it's off my list of quilts to quilt.  It's a custom quilt, which I have a love/hate relationship with.  I love them because they are always so awesome to see the finished product but I hate them because they KILL my back and hips to lean over the machine to do some of the intricate work.  This one was a killer because of the applique.

But look how beautiful it turned out.  Of course it didn't hurt anything that Sharon does such fabulous applique work.  Her work is magnificient!

Even her backings are a work of art!

A simple little feathery loop de loop in the border...

A cathedral window pattern fill in the middle and around the leaf wreath

A dense vine fill around the oak leaf an acorns in the corners...

And a feathered log cabin pattern on the log cabin blocks.

Sharon also made this very nice Flag quilt.  You know I love it, if for no other reason than it's red/white/blue.
