Traffic Jam Sew A Long Month 1

It's finally here, the Traffic Jam Sew A Long.  I'm so glad you stopped in to join the fun.  It's going to be a Block of the Month Sew A Long.   Each month we'll make at least one unit (or block) for the  Traffic Jam Quilt for the next 12 months.  You'll need the Traffic Jam Pattern as well.  You can get it here.  So let's get started.

These are my fabrics.

The darker green tone print is my background Fabric #1, the orange is my contrast fabric #2, and the large fun print in the middle is my Focus Fabric #3.

For Month 1 you'll need :
A - Fabric #1 Background
B -  Fabric #1 Background
C -  Fabric #1 Background
D -  Fabric #1 Background
E -  Contrast Fabric #2
F -  Contrast Fabric #2

Sew background (A) to contrast fabric square (E).   Press to contrast fabric.
Sew background square (C) to contrast fabric square (E).  Press to contrast fabric.

Sew these two units together.  Press to contrast fabric.

Sew strip unit made above to contrast fabric (F).

Sew background fabric (B) to left side of above unit.  Press to contrast fabric.

Sew background (D) to top of above unit.  Press toward contrast fabric.

That's it for Month 1!  Super easy peasy!

Now label it for future reference.  This is Column 1, Unit 1.

Each month is just as simple as this one.  Next month there will be 4 blocks to make but they are all the same.  Just 4 blocks exactly alike.  It will be so easy to keep up.

Now let's see your Month 1 block.   Link up using the Linky party button, or post your block on Instagram, using the (hashtag) #quiltingqueenonline #trafficjamquilt, or post on my Facebook Page.
