Welcome Home

It's kinda nice to be back home for a few days.  I say kinda because when we left Arizona it was in the upper 60's and lots of sunshine and this....

We came home to temps in the upper 20's and no sunshine and this....

Yuck!  Have I ever mentioned how much I dislike COLD AND SNOW!??  Just in case you missed it, I don't like COLD AND SNOW!! ... at all... not even a little bit... and we sure have more than a little bit up here.  I know, I know, you have to take the good with the bad, make the most of what you have, yada, yada, yada... I hate it when I have to practice what I preach!

Oh but look at what I found on the Base in Yuma AZ....

How cool is this?  I would have never expected a street with this name on a Marine base.  Too bad there wasn't a quilt shop to go with it!  I should have taken the photo at the corner of Martini and Quilter Street.  There were some interesting names on the Base for sure.

While unpacking my things from Missouri and Arizona, I thought I'd share a few things that were given to me,  I acquired, I brought back.

My BFF Cindy gave me this vintage iron.  I love it and her!

My favorite Aunt Del gave me this for my birthday.  I love it too and love her more!

And I picked this up at the Flea Market in Bolivar MO.  It will make it's way into a table runner for a very special favorite Aunt.  I looked and looked before Christmas and never found just the right doily.  Now I think I have.  You'll have to check back to see what I do with it.

Mom and Rhonda also gave me a ziplock baggie of old sewing things.  I'll show you that in another post though.
