Favorite Things for Favorite People

I was privileged enough to be invited to the King's Staff Christmas Party this week.  He has a great group of support staff here in DeKalb.  To show his appreciation, he took them to lunch and sent them home for the rest of the day.

This is Alicia on the left and Melanie on the right.

Alicia is a "temp" but the King sure wishes she was "permanent".  One of his "coordinators" aka Secretary, aka Administrative Assistant retired in February and he's been short handed.  Alicia has been doing some of that work on a part-time basis through the Temp Agency that 3M uses.  She's a keeper though.

Melanie has been a treasure too.   She transferred here in May (I think) and is fabulous.  She makes us all smile!  And she's so much fun to be around.

This is Peg and Leigha (and I probably butchered the spelling of her name!  Sorry!)  Both are pillars in his department and he would have a hard time functioning without them.

Peg lives on a farm and brings me fresh farm eggs.  I love that!  Leigha and I have a lot in common; one thing being hating the cold weather and our love for our flip flops!

I made them all a little something too.  I gave them all a dozen of my Decorated Christmas Sugar Cookies and a Santa belly towel I made.  I forgot to take a picture of them before I gave them away but you can see a peek of it in the picture above of Alicia and Melanie.

However, the gift they gave us was awesome!  You should have seen William's eyes light up!

The card reads "Your favorite things from your favorite people".  They were right on both accounts.  Our favorite things... tequila, margarita mixer, margarita salt, some golf balls, some pretzels for the King and some chocolate covered pretzels.  Don't you just love the basket they put it all in?  Alicia and her mom made that clever basket.  It went perfect with the Santa Belly Towels I made and the placemats I have at home.  These girls are our favorite people!

  1. Looks like you had a nice time. And that basket looks super cute and probably very easy to make as well.

Your comments make my day. I love to hear what you have to say. Please leave me a comment.
