Tuesday Tips, Tricks and Tuts - Strip Segment Cutting
Quite some time ago I posted about cutting out squares or rectangles and gave a tutorial on how to do it quickly. You can find it here. Cutting a strip set works the same way.
I begin by laying my strips down on my cutting mat, lining up the edge of the strip with a horizontal line on my cutting board. I repeat for as many strips as I can fit on the cutting mat.
Then I carefully lay my ruler on the strip set(s) aligning the ruler edge on the vertical line on the cutting mat.
Then I cut with a rotary cutter. In this example I have two layers and 4 strip sets. I just cut 8 segments in the blink of an eye.
Continue cutting the desired width of segments across the strips to cut the necessary number of segments.
And there you have it.... Strip Segment Cutting. I cut 72 strip sets in about 2 minutes. I cut 8 strip sets into units in the same amount of time it would take me to cut 1 strip set. Now that's pretty quick!
