Mini Art Quilt Show

At the recommendation of my daughter's father-in-law, Hollie and I drove the short distance to the Clinic in Scottsdale AZ to see the mini quilt exhibit of Margit Kagerer.  I'm so glad we did.  She does fabulous work.

I'm always so intrigued by the creations others do with Art Quilting.  It's something I've never tried and really don't see myself doing.  It's really just not "me".  I am a traditionalist.  I love the antique quilts and traditional patterns.

But I love seeing how others interpret life around them.

I really liked the quilting in this one.  The agave plants, cactus, and mesquite trees...

Something so simple as an ABC quilt can make such a statement...

I hope you enjoyed the Mini Art Quilt Show as much as I did.  I'm also enjoying all the life around me this week too.  Like this cute little guy.

He got his first "big boy hair cut".  Momma was a little sad to see his curls go away. This was before the hair cut.  It's hard to tell in this picture but he has the most beautiful soft curls in the back.  The haircut is quite a difference.

This sweet girl has been my "roommate" since Poppy (aka the King) left on Tuesday to go back to work in the Frozen Tundra (aka DeKalb IL).  I've been treated to a foot massage several times.

We've made fresh lemonade with the lemons that we picked from the lemon tree in the back yard.  It was delicious.

And we celebrated my birthday in style at Red Lobster, finishing it off with a slice of my favorite ... New York Style Cheesecake with Strawberries.

I'm going to hate to leave in a couple of days.  But alas, I have blog hops to prepare for.
