9 Patch Knots

I've been working on a LONG overdue Christmas gift.  I gifted the "intention" at Christmas 2013.  Then what a year 2014 was!  And 2015 wasn't much better with a move to Illinois.  I spent a lot of time running up and down the interstate from Texas to Missouri to Illinois.  It's hard to sew when you're driving a car.

I had the hardest time trying to find the "perfect" fabric.  My recipient was pretty specific on what color(s) she wanted.  I finally found some fabric that fit her requests.  And then I couldn't decide on the pattern.  I finally decided on one I designed myself.  I'm calling it 9 Patch Knots for now.  I may re-name it later on or I might just keep the name.

Of course, some nine patch goodness...

15 Unit A blocks

And 15 Unit B blocks....

I have it all set together and borders are added.  You'll have to wait to see the finished quilt after I've quilted it.  She is going to be so surprised when I wrap it up for Christmas this year.  She has no idea I've been working on it.

Oh and today I reached a milestone!  I'm officially a senior citizen driving the double nickel speed limit.  Happy Birthday to me!  You can make me a cake... a quilt block cake.... or better yet, make it for yourself and keep it for your birthday.   There is a free pattern here.
