Miss Batty Lou Boo

Miss Batty Lou Boo was just about to drive this Queen CRAZY!!!  I purchased this "Stitch by Number" pattern while I was on my retreat in Texas back in August.  I thought Miss Batty Lou Boo was just so stinkin cute!  At the time I didn't realize I'd be participating in a Halloween Blog Hop so when Marian at Seams To Be Sew asked if I'd like to join in on the fun, I knew exactly what I wanted to make.

Miss Battly Lou Boo is basically a paper piecing project that the designer has taken most of the guess work out of and the pieces are cut perfectly the right size.  It's kinda like putting a jig saw puzzle together.  And when I was a kid I was pretty dang good at it.  My grandma Cotten always had a puzzle in the works when we visited.

So I've followed the directions and did everything I was suppose to.  I fused the pre-printed interfacing to my corresponding fabric choices.

Cut those stinkin tiny pieces out.

Then set to work putting them on the second pre-printed fusible interfacing.

Wait a minute, where are the pieces for Section E???  I have a foundation piece labeled E but I have no "E" pieces of any kind.  I tore my sewing room apart.  I looked in drawers, project totes, completely emptied the trash and went through every single piece of scrap that was in it.  They were no where to be found.  One evening I had taken the pieces downstairs to cut while I was watching TV (that I really don't watch but the King has on for noise.  He doesn't watch much of it either unless he watches it through the pinholes of his eye lids that are shut most of the time.)  I was very careful to keep it contained in a basket by my chair and promptly took it back upstairs as soon as I was finished.  I know myself all too well and could just see losing some of those pieces.  Which is what I obviously had done in spite of how careful I was being.  Finally I decided to move on and maybe they would show up in the end.

The remainder of the sections pieced together....

And what do you know...  Introducing Miss Batty Lou Boo!  But wait, how could she be done when I still have Foundation E.  Guess it turns out there is no "E".  "E" doesn't fit in this "Stitch By Number" pattern.  But it sure drove me BATTY for several days and I spent a lot of time looking for something that was never there.

I think she turned out so cute and I can't wait to show you what else I did with her.  You'll have to wait for the Halloween Haunted Blog Hop to meet Miss Batty Lou Boo all dolled up to meet her handsome Mr. Bobby Boo Bones.

  1. Thanx for the chuckle. I've done the same thing! L

  2. So, I'm not alone in loosing pieces! Whew, that makes me feel much better!
