We made the most of the time we had. Saturday morning we took in an Estate Sale where we purchased a table and 4 chairs for William for his future apartment and I picked up a small drop leaf end table type table. Then William took the 3 "old ladies" and went on a tour of DeKalb/Sycamore. They drove past the Ellwood House, Northern Illinois University (NIU), 3M, Kiswaukee Community College, and downtown Sycamore, among the top sites. These are NIU Husky statues (the mascot of NIU) that are placed around town and each one is dress or decorated differently at the discretion of the business displaying them. This one was at Jonamac Orchard.
Meanwhile The King and I took Marsha to the Outlet Mall in Aurora. We met back up for lunch at the infamous Portillo's Hot Dogs
In the afternoon we took in Jonamac Orchards in Malta IL. Had some fabulous and, infamous again, "Apple Donuts". We also purchased some apples as well. William and the King took their picture with Johnny Apple Seed too.
Then on to the Pumpkin Fest Arts and Crafts Show in Sycamore. Mom purchased this super cute "Shutter Snowman".
She also bought me a birthday present, this neat snowman picture.
What's really neat about it is that the light on the barn, the lantern, and the yard light really do light up. The picture is printed on the canvas frame and then the LED lights are strategically added to the back. They shine through the canvas and give it a 3D effect. I had a hard time deciding on which print I wanted. There were so many really neat ones.
Back home for the evening and some very tasty grilled steaks by the King. We were all pooped! The King's cousin Marsha is a SAINT. She drove 3 old ladies up here and now is headed back.
Very busy time for the ladies and you. I would have to rest a couple
ReplyDeleteof days after that. Too much fun wears me out. 8-). Love the print.
The snowman is adorable.
