Special Delivery

I got a Special Delivery quilt top last week.  It is so nice to have a customer drive 8+ hours to bring me a quilt to quilt.  Okay, maybe she didn't drive that far just to bring me a quilt top.  Maybe it had something to do with the fact that she came 8+ hours to watch her granddaughter play volleyball.  It seems her daughter lives in nearby Batavia (only about 30 minutes from me).  Phyllis brought this to me on her way to see her daughter and family for a short visit.

Here are a few of my favorite blocks.

Phyllis is a new customer but a long time family acquaintence from my hometown are of Vernon County, Missouri is a new quilter.  I've known her since I was a little girl and remember her and her family from my 4-H days back in the 70's.   I think Phyllis has always sewn, but had just recently taken up quilting.  She was taking a beginner's sampler class from her local quilt shop when she had an accident and had to put her quilting on hold for almost a year.  She is thankfully recovered and is back at it again.  I think she's done a fabulous job!

I can't wait to get more quilts from her in the future.  When she came to pick it up she offered to take anything back to Nevada for me.   I wanted to say "how about I jump in the vehicle with you".  She would have gladly let me but the King might have missed me come dinner time.

I'm linking up with Lorna at Sew Fresh Quilts on her Let's Bee Social Wednesday.  Go buzz around in some of the hives and see what's going on.
