Medallion Quilts at DeKalb County Quilters Guild

Melanie McNeil of Catbird Quilt Studio was our guest speaker at DeKalb County Quilter's Guild this month.  She gave a lecture on Medallion Quilts and presented a beautiful trunk show.  I loved her rules for making a Medallion Quilt.  She said "There are no rules".  I love it when there aren't any rules.  Then I won't get in trouble by the Quilt Police since I usually break the rules.

Here are a few of the quilts she showed us.

I've made several medallion quilts, just didn't realize that's what I was doing when I made them.  Like this one from last year's Halloween Blog Hop.  You can read about it here.

I've got several more in mind.  I can't wait to get my "required" projects finished so I can go play with my medallion quilt ideas.  Speaking of "required" projects and Halloween blog hops.  I've got another one coming up.

And don't forget about the Freebie Friday Giveaway going on here.
