A few months ago William came to me and asked how his dad and I would feel about having one of his friends live with us and go to college where he was planning to go here in DeKalb. The King and I talked about it and I'm not going to deny, I certainly had some reservations. I didn't know this young man at all, and I had never met him either.
You see, this young man, aka Cody was one of William's online friends that he plays his online games with. William has talked about Cody for years. They have played together, and skyped daily for more than 5 years. But still, I didn't know him and I didn't know his family.
Reluctantly we agreed to give it a try. William was ecstatic! He could hardly wait for fall classes to start. I met Cody and his dad and grandma about a month ago and all my fears were eased. The family seems wonderful. Cody is so nice and quiet and polite.
This is them on their first day of classes.
I was told this would be the last picture I took of the first day of school. We will see.... as one friend told me; if I'm paying the tuition and living expenses I should be able to take as many pictures as I want. Good point!
And this is them just hanging out. So far so good. I don't foresee any trouble from this kid at all. In fact, I think they will be good for each other. They have the same interests, several of the same classes; it's going to be a good year for them!
