Freebie Friday - 08-07-15

Whoo Hoo!  It's finally Friday!  For me it's just another day but for you 9-5 working gals (and guys) it's a big deal.  I remember all too well!  Last week when I was searching frantically for a piece of chrome yellow fabric; which by the way I never found, but I know it's in there somewhere, I found a tote of "freebies" I was saving.  I knew I had the tote somewhere but each time I would think about it I would be downstairs or away from my studio and by the time I returned, the idea to look for it was gone!  Some say that's a sign of old age, I prefer to think of it as too many distractions.

So here's what I pulled out of the tote to give away today on Freebie Friday.  It's a book from Pat Sloan, a t-shirt from Kangaroo Sewing Cabinets, and a nice plastic tote bag from Maywood Studio.

This week I've been working on quilting a charity quilt.  I'll show you the finish soon.  I've also been working on my top secret quilt for the EQ7 Seasonal Row Along.  I can't show you that reveal yet.  You'll have to wait until September for that.  It's something you won't want to miss.  There are some fabulous prizes!  You can join the Facebook page and keep up with all the happenings and probably see a sneak peak of some of the rows too.  You can also check out the full details here.

Ok, back to the giveaway... I had another one of those distractions....   Just leave me a comment and tell me what you're working on this summer.  Don't forget get distracted; be sure to leave me your email address.  I have to be able to contact you when you win the Freebie Friday prize.  I'll use random number generator for a winner next Friday, August 14th.  Now go have a great weekend and sew something!

  4. :) Well since you asked....this summer I've been trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up! As I redo all of my flower beds, chase hornets, work on round robin quilts, paint in my studio, and teach art classes at the college. The summer has be filled with distractions which make me ponder and think for hours...what do I really truly want to be doing...when I grow up! :)

  6. Distraction is my middle name when it comes to sewing! I have so many things I want to make swirling around in my head that I lose interest quickly to start something new. Yep, that means my WIP pile keeps growing. My most recent project that I *completely* finished was a table runner using low-volume fabrics and fussy-cut swatches of my mom's favorite hankies. It turned out so pretty and one project I am very proud of! Now I am exploring how to make greeting cards with fabric. I want to get one in the mail today!

  7. I saw the name Doris at the end of your post. My name is Doris too. My brother named after his girlfriend. Then he didn't even marry her. Oh ,well. This summer I'm working on some hexies from The Hexagon book. I'm also working on a paper pieced quilt. I've been making dresses and shorts sets for my daughter. Needless to say I love to sew. Thank you for the chance to win!!!

  9. I have had a busy summer too...helped my daughter and her husband move to Hawaii (miss her so much!) and helping my dad get to the point he can retire (he's 94, so I guess it's time), while creating blocks to be signed at my stepson's wedding in October and creating the 2 challenges for my LA quilting guild. I really need to get all my UFOs quilted - there are only about 50 in the pile!!! Also been working on cleaning up and re-arranging the bedrooms upstairs so I can actually have 3 guest rooms!! Love the giveaway...thank you so much!! wild_blue_farm at yahoo dot com.

  11. This summer I hope to make 5-7 quilts to be awarded at a Quilt Of Valor presentation this November. So far I have 5 down and 2 to go. I will try to complete one of the quilts I started at the Jo, Kelli and Bonnie's quilt retreat in 'West Union, IA to use and I am just about done with another quilt. I think I might make my goal of 7.
