Charity Quilt Finish

Last week I was contacted by Ray and Barb Gentilcore about quilting a charity quilt for the American Legion in Genoa IL.  Ray is a commander at the post.  He told me a very sad story.  It seems their employee embezzled a substantial amount of money from the post, didn't pay the bills, didn't renew the liquor license, the list of what she didn't do goes on and on.   She is being prosecuted but in the mean time, Ray and Barb are trying to do what they can to get the American Legion Post  back on it's feet.  The American Legion does so much for that community and our Veterans.  So Barb made this quilt and I quilted it for them.

Barb did some fabulous embroidery on the blocks and appliqued stars all around them.

I quilted the Quilts of Valor Eagle in the 4-patch squares.

I don't usually do custom quilting on a charity quilt but this one really needed it.  I just couldn't quilt across her embroidery!

It's a beautiful, queen size quilt.  I hope they make lots of money from it.  If you'd like to have a chance to win it, you can contact myself, Barb, Ray, or the American Legion in Genoa for a chance to win.  It's just a $1 donation per chance or $5 for 6 chances.  They will be giving it away sometime the first of October.
