Over the weekend, I did my second favorite thing... I went junkin' with my sister.
I really wasn't on the hunt for anything in particular... well, that's not exactly true. I'm always on the hunt for a bargain... and I also was on the hunt for something to decorate my family room with. Of course, I have no idea what that something might be but I knew I'd know it when I saw it. I didn't find a steal or a bargain but I did find this unique enamelware piece.
Most of the enamelware I see has the red handles. I have several of those pieces. But this time I found one with a turquoise blue handle..... And guess what color my kitchen is decorated in.... Why yes, it's turquoise and red. I couldn't pass this up. It's got several chips but again, I couldn't pass on the turquoise handle.
My second treasure was this vintage jar. I have several of these in my studio with buttons, and wooden spools, and old lace, and such in each of them. This jar was only $4. I needed another one don't you think?
And then I found this light blue enamel coffee pot. I would have really been excited if it had been turquoise but it isn't. It's light blue.
It will look great with my other tea pots and coffee pots on top of my hosier type cabinet.
bet hope I'll find more treasures next weekend before I head home. If nothing else, I'll go treasure hunting in dad's basement. He's always good for a thing or two.
