BACKINGS AND LONGARM QUILTING

Tonight I was going to post the finished quilt pictures of the "Lovely in Lavendar" quilt I've been custom quilting.  But it's been one of those days and my day didn't go like I thought it might so I have no pictures taken yet of the whole quilt.  I'll just have to tease you again with another picture of quilting on a block.

So since I didn't post the pictures of the finished quilt, I thought I might give you a tutorial on how to square a quilt back.  I seem to have more than enough quilt backs that are coming in very "not square"!  (Now that isn't very good english but you know exactly what I mean!)    Remember how it's been one of those days...  Well, I didn't get the tutorial finished either so both things will have to wait for another day.

I'll have pictures of the quilt tomorrow and will have the squaring your quilt backing tutorial by Monday.  In the mean time, have a fabulous weekend.  Stay cool; stay inside and quilt!

  2. Squaring up a large quilt back is a pain...and so many people don't know how to do it!! I know several of my customers who give me quilts with wonky backings that I get to square up before I put it on my frame. Don't they know that frequently quilters turn the quilt so that they can do the borders that were on the sides all in one pass?? I'm looking forward to your post on Monday!! I had one of those quilting days yesterday...on my own quilt that is a challenge (quilting challenge, no less), so I'm spending some time ripping out some quilting with metallic thread!!
