This morning I told the BIG baby good-bye and left him at college almost 700 miles away.
We had breakfast with him at Steak N Shake and then we drove off into the
sunset sunrise. It was one thing to drive off and leave him in Nevada, MO with my parents and the King's mother but let me tell you it's lots harder to leave him at college. I kinda knew it would be and tried to prepare myself but that didn't work out quite like I had planned.
He was even a little glassy eyed when he hugged me but he's excited about college and classes and being on his own. The King and I are excited that Parents Weekend is only a month away and we will see him again.
Oh, and would you like to know what $575 worth of books looks like? Let me show you. That's only 6 books and a "clicker" (whatever that is).
Last week, as you recall, I said good-bye to my daughter Hollie and the grands, Raleigh and Kameron. They have arrived back in Japan and have settled in and back to a routine... I think! Nana and Poppy are excited that they will be back in the states for good next summer.
Hollie posted this picture of them earlier this weekend.
Before they left mom and I took some pictures of them. Today is the first time I've been able to look at them. I have to show you just a couple of them.
