QUILT GUILD DONATION QUILT

Whooo Hooo!! YAY!!  Can someone give me a hallelujah!  I finally finished quilting the Brownwood Quilter's Guild donation quilt!  It has been on my frame for 5 days and that's waaayyy tooooo long!   I can finally pass the torch quilt to the next person to put the binding and quilt label on.  The Heart of Texas Quilt Show is April 25th from 10:00 a.m.  5:00 p.m. and April 26th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  We will have a lecture from the Scarlet Today featuring 100 years of Redwork, a trunk show of Texas Beauties from Doris Rice The Quilting Queen, a presentation from Shaula Patton of the Feathered Star Quilt Shop and a presentation from Debby Maddy of The Calico Carriage.  There will also be a display of 10 years of The Best of Show Quilts.

It's from the book by Eleanor Burns Tales of First Ladies.  It is a big quilt, 94" x 104".

I tried lots of different photos and angles but I couldn't get a good picture of the star fill in the background fabric of the applique.

There are eagles and feathers quilted in the flying geese and a cute little zig zag in the narrow cream border.  You can kinda see the star fill in the applique background in this picture too.

I used the same star fill in the background around the eagle applique also.

Now, who would like a chance to win this quilt.  They are 6 for $5.00 (or $1 each) and a portion of the proceeds  go to a local charity.  Contact me if you would like to win this.
