BABY IT'S COLD OUTSIDE

This is for all my "northern" friends.  It's really not that cold outside here in Central Texas.  Actually it's 50 degrees at 8:30 p.m.  It was a beautiful day today with temps in the 70's.  I worked out in the garage some this afternoon.  I'm trying to clean, organize, and purge.  I managed to get a small section of shelving on one side of the garage tidied up.  I even found a treasure in my own garage.  It was a Pampered chef Mix n Store glass measuring bowl with a lid.  I apparently purchased it as a gift and never gave it away.  Too bad for the intended recipient.  Lord knows who that was though.

Okay, yeah back to it being cold outside.  My family in MO reports frigid temps and cold, cold wind chills and so do my dear friends in Minnesota.  Thus the reason I LOVE living in Texas.  I hate the cold, I hate the snow, I hate the ice, and I really hate the bitter wind chills.  Did I mention that I don't like cold weather?

Jo over at Jo's Country Junction reports her forecast for Monday and Tuesday is -50 degree wind chills.  That's not fit for man or beast!  She had to throw another quilt on the bed.  I personally don't think I own enough quilts to stay warm with temps like that.  And let me tell you I own A LOT of quilts.  I'm guessing she does too.

She wants to know what's on your bed so here's what's on mine.  I do have 2 quilts on there but I usually end up throwing the top one off.  This is called God Bless Texas Sampler.  I made it from the God Bless Texas pattern I designed and added sampler blocks all the way around it to make it queen size.  (Note:  I was going to refer you to my quilt patterns page so you could purchase your very own God Bless Texas pattern if you didn't already have it and I just realized that my Quilt Patterns Page is broken.  I'll have to see if I can get my blog designer/techie William to fix it.)

Under this one is something fun and makes me think of beaches, bathing suits, flip flops, and warmer times coming this summer.

So how many quilts do you have on your bed?  Show us what it is.  Just link up here at Jo's Country Junction and show her too.

  1. Fun quilts! I would kill for 50 degree temps right now!! The only good thing about this weather is that it looks pretty.

  2. Love your Texas quilt ! I can't imagine why is it red, white and blue ? LOL You should get all your red white and blue quilts together and take a picture of them in one pile...your ceiling probably isn't tall enough !
