Christmas is one of my favorite holidays.  Okay, it IS my favorite holiday.  I love everything about it.  The Reason for the Season, lights, trees, presents, cookies, ornaments, Santa, the twinkle in a child's eye, music ... you name it, I love it.  However I do have a few favorites.

I think my favorite thing is the lights.  I love looking at all the lights.  I'll try to post some of the pictures I've been taking of lights.  Here's a teaser.

My favorite holiday song is Mary Did You Knowbut growing up the song I remember most is the song my Grandma Larson always liked, Silver Bells.  Sometimes a tear comes to my eye and I always think of Grandma whenever it's played.  Oh great, now that song is in my head and I can't get it out!

And then there's my favorite candy/cookie.  I've posted before about the homemade decorated sugar cookies and the Special K Cookies (that aren't made from Special K cereal but the original recipe called for it).  But an old family favorite that Grandma Larson taught me to make are Danish Hartshorn Cookies and they have a special ingredient in them; hartshorn.  Yep you read it right.  You can read more about hartshorn here.  Oh wait that was 3 favorite cookies not just one.  I can't pick just one.

And of course I couldn't forget my favorite Christmas quilt.  This was the firs Christmas quilt I made.  Sorry for the blurry picture.
See, I can't pick just one.
And my favorite, and oldest Christmas ornament.  The original Elf on A Shelf. haha!

These are a few of my favorite things.... Hmmm there's a song about that.....  What are your favorite Christmas things?
