I had the nicest surprise at the Calico Clippers Quilt Show put on by the Calico Clippers Quilt Guild of Stockton MO today.  You see, I didn't have very high expectations for this quilt show in small town Stockton MO.  My dad is from Stockton MO and I spent many summers there with my grandma Cotton and lots of cousins but, it IS a small town.  Boy was I wrong!!!  It was a great quilt show.  The quality of quilts and quilting showed much talent.  I'll share my pictures with you.  And I had an even nicer surprise at the end.

It's funny how the lens of a camera changes the definition of the quilt.  At first I thought my photo was out of focus but it isn't.

Theses half square triangle blocks are only 1" finished!  Now that's a lot of triangles!!!

Don't you just love the folded flowers.

I'm not a huge fan of "artsy" quilts but I thought this wall hanging was very interesting.  I wonder how they curled this fabric for the rose petals.

I love coloring; I just wish I had the artsy bone needed to do the shading to make it look like this.  That gene passed me by but my son Drew got it.  He's a fabulous artist.

I was very attracted to the quilting on the top wall hanging.

Again the quilting on this one caught my eye.

A new twist on a lone star layout.

And some modern type quilting.

I took this for ideas on my row quilt I'm working on in our guild.

Loved the quilting in the piano keys.

This quilt, at first glance, looked like it had a netting overlay.  Nope, it was just the quilting.

This was a miniature quilt.

The last quilt I took pictures of.  Aren't you glad I ran out of battery on my phone!

Another nice surprise that I got at the quilt show was that Dad won a door prize and I now I have it!  Isn't my dad the best dad in the world!  Look what a cool bag of goodies Margie Pearl House of Fabrics gave away.
I plan to make this cute little project just in time for the "Wicked" Blog hop, along with another project you won't want to miss.
