My Strip Twist class with Bonnie Hunter with Quiltville was awesome.  I had a great time and learned so much.  It is amazing to me that I have been quilting since the 80's and I still learn new things. Thanks to one of my BFF's Linda for twisting my arm to take the class.  It was well worth it.

First task at hand, determine an accurate 1/4" seam with the fabrics, thread, and machine you're working with.

Then it's sew, sew, sew them strips.

Cut them apart, twist and sew them back together, and this is what you get.  Strip Twist.  I used a jelly roll for my strips.  I have a whole tub of 2 1/2" strips that I could have used but I've also had this jelly roll for about 5 years and was waiting for the "perfect project" to use it on.  Actually I had 2 jelly rolls and I'm going to add to this to make it a full size quilt.

Another one of my BFF's Angela and I stayed for the Abilene Quilters Guild Meeting where Bonnie presented a truck show and lecture.  She is so funny and so creative.  I learned even more at the lecture and she has now created a monster in me for scrap quilts.  Now, I know what you're thinking.  You probably remember I don't do scrappy quilts.  I have to plan them out but I think I can do this Bonnie's way.  I'm going to give it my best shot anyway.  I'll post pictures from the trunk show and lecture tomorrow.
