QOV #1 & #2

I am way behind on my QOV (Quilts of Valor) Quilting.  I love what they stand for and wish I had more time to make quilts and quilt them for QOV.  I had a goal of quilting at least 1 quilt per month and making 2 quilts myself.   I do have 1 quilt cut out and I have blocks made for another but no quilt put together yet.  I am way behind on that goal.  Just where does the time go?
My friend Marsha in Benbrook pieces LOTS of QOV quilts and sends them to me to quilt.  Here are two of them.  I don't know where she gets all her patterns or fabrics but they are always amazing.

I quilted an edge to edge pattern that says "USA" over and over in Candy Apple Red Thread from Glide.

I love these air planes!  It's kinda unusual for Marsha not to put red, white, and blue but still awesome anyway.

Do you make quilts for charities?  Do you set goals for yourself to do them or just do them when you have time?  If you make charity quilts, who is the charity?

  1. I esp. love the airplanes!! I make baby quilts for Operation Homefront, and always have a comfort quilt on hand when someone in the community has a need.

Your comments make my day. I love to hear what you have to say. Please leave me a comment.
