BROWN SUGAR COOKIES

I haven't been slacking on my quilting.  Quite the contrary!  I have been working on a large custom quilt and I'm almost finished.  I should have pictures Saturday.  Tomorrow I'm off to the One Stop Quilt Shop in Waco, TX with my UFO group.

But tonight after dinner, William asked me to make him some Brown Sugar Cookies.  Now that's just what I wanted to do at 8:00 p.m. in the evening after I worked till 1:00 p.m. and quilted the rest of the day.  But guess what, I made him cookies.  Actually they are Chocolate Chip cookies without the chocolate chips.  They are one of his favorites!

Here is the recipe:

BROWN SUGAR COOKIES

1 cup margarine
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt

Melt margarine in large bowl.  Add sugars and mix well.  Add vanilla & eggs and beat together.  Add dry ingredients and stir well.  Drop by spoonful on baking sheet.  Bake in 350 degree oven for 10-12 minutes.  Cool on cooling rack.  Makes 3-4 dozen.
