DESERT SKY

Today I was suppose to take a quilting class sponsored by the Brownwood Quilters Guild but sometimes life just gets in the way.  It was a really neat class that I have been wanting to make for some time now using the pattern Desert Sky by Judy Niemeyer of Quiltworx.com.  I started the day going to work till 10:00 a.m.  We haven't been busy at work and I have been leaving around 9:00 - 9:30.  Of course the day I plan something is the day I have to work later!  (The class started at 9:30 a.m.) So now I'm already 40 minutes behind by the time I get there.  I also knew that I wouldn't be able to stay the whole class anyway as Monday William's FFA advisor asked me to go along and help chaparone with them on a contest trip.  We are leaving Thursday morning and not returning until late Saturday evening.  And sometime before 3:30 p.m. today I needed to make a double batch of banana pudding for the Lenten dinner this evening at church that I am in charge of and a double batch of chocolate chip cookies to take on the trip.  Oh, yeah and I have to go pick Gregg up at the tire store.  He is taking William's new pickup to have some chrome wheels changed out.  All the above was accomplished on time, dinner was a success, and although I didn't get to sew anything at the workshop, I did get to sit in on some of the instructions and learned a couple of tricks to make the piecing process a little easier (I hope).  When I get to actually sew it, I'll post progress.
