Today I taught a class for the Razzle Dazzle Quilters Group on Pieced Applique by Penny Haren.  It's a really neat and different way to piece intricate blocks easily.  You piece a basic foundation block, then add templates you cut out and glue to the foundation block, then applique on either by hand or machine.  The first quilt I did I appliqued them by hand but the second one I'm doing the applique by machine.  You can watch this video to see the basic idea too.

Here are some of the blocks from the class participants.

These are mine.  Of course you would know that from the red, white, and blue fabrics and the Texas center in the bottom block.  It's also a lot of fun to fussy cut some of the pieces.

These are Bertha's.  She is doing civil war reproduction fabrics.  I love her color choice.

Connie's blocks are going to be lovely and bright.  I love the orange, green, and purple.

Donna chose a very scrappy look and some of her fabrics of a story.  I love stories.

Carol's focus fabric is really bright and cheery!  I love her colors too.

Somehow I missed taking a picture of Ann's blocks.  She did hers in black,  red, and white.  They are very stunning!  I love them too.  Did I mention I love everyone's blocks.  We didn't get a lot of blocks completed but they learned the basics of pieced applique and we sure had a lot of fun.  What a great therapy session!
