It's Brown County Youth Fair Week in Brownwood, Texas.  Meet "Bevo #5" before shearing.

And "Bevo #5 after shearing.

And this is "Longhorn" before shearing

And "Longhorn" after shearing.
Your relationship will be short lived as both of these goats are market goats and will be gone to market after Saturday.  Well, that's not quite true.  "Bevo #5" is staying on until March as he is making a debut showing at the Houston Livestock Show.   Today was entry day at the BCYF for Bevo and Longhorn.  They weighed in at 84 pounds and 91 pounds respectively.  We are hoping they won't be in the same show class.  We don't want them competing against each other!  Between now and Show time Friday morning beginning at 8:00 a.m., there will be lots of "drenching" and working, and "setting them up" as well as lots of fun times and memories made.  We'll post results Friday evening.  Good luck to all the youth of Brown County participating in the BCYF.

  1. Good luck and have fun. I have wonderful memories of showing cattle at county fairs here many, many years ago.

  2. This is all so interesting. Wish we had gone to the fair.

Your comments make my day. I love to hear what you have to say. Please leave me a comment.
