Today was my birthday.  I'll have to admit I wasn't exactly looking forward to it.  After all it was my 51st and there wasn't anything special about my 50th so why would this one be any different.  Actually my 50th was quite depressing!  Gregg and William did their best to make this one a special day and they actually pulled it off!  Gregg took the day off of work to play golf to celebrate my birthday.  He's such a sweet guy!  Maybe he felt bad because I had these on the table when I got off work at noon.  They are beautiful and he can never go wrong with roses!

Then he baked my favorite cake all by himself; Cinnamon Cake.    It's my favorite.  My grandma Cotten used to make it for me every time I came to visit her.  Did I mention it's my favorite?!  And it was soo yummy!

And then he took me to dinner at Prima Pasta and 3 other couples met us there.  Here are some of the goodies I got!  Do you see the huge pink tomato pin cushion that Donna gave me?  How cool is that?  She also gave me some red fabric with blue stars and the cutest oak leaf charm and a tiny little acorn attached.   And how about those really warm knitted socks made by my friend Judy Laquidara .  I feel so special to be the recipient of a homemade gift and especially Judy's knitted socks.  She also gave me an autographed copy of Quiltmakers 100 Blocks Magazine that's hot off the press and not yet in stores!  Jan brought me these beautiful flowers and William gave me a George Strait CD.  I love King George!!!
If you're friends with me on facebook then you already know the most special birthday wish ever was from my 3 year old granddaughter; my little Princess Raleigh.  She called me this afternoon and told me 3 times in about 10 seconds "Happy Birthday Nana"! I have the best husband, children, and friends in the whole world.  Can you believe I had 86 Happy Birthday posts on my facebook wall!?
