There is nothing more exciting in small town Brownwood than Homecoming and Friday Night Football. Until you've experienced a Friday Night Football game in central Texas, I can't even begin to describe the experience. It's just different than anything in Missouri or Arkansas. I don't know how, or why, it just is!
They even have finger mums! The floral design class at Brownwood High School made these and sold them.
No one was left out! Even preschoolers, elementary students, and middle schoolers had mums. They were so cute on the little girls, taking up their hole chest and streamers down to their ankles!
Brownwood FFA members sold raffle tickets for a pair of boots from Scott's Western Wear and this quilt (which is folded in half) made and donated by me. The lucky winner of the quilt, Mrs . Perkins, is pictured with some of the FFA members.
Today I'm off to the Central Methodist Bazaar and Hamburger luncheon, work on my "Pieces of Texas Flag" quilt and hopefully finish my "Texas Traditions" quilt. It's all about Texas here you know!
I love Friday night Football & homecoming mums! My daughter is a senior this year & I'm both excited & lil sad this will be her last mum. But true to Texas, it's gonna be a big one
