Dresden Plate

My dad loves a garage sale or auction.  He is always finding a gem for a song!  Last year he found a whole box of Dresden plate blocks at a flea market for only $5!  The blocks in the quilt below were already appliqued to the yellow cotton fabric and ready to set together for a quilt.  There were 21 blocks.  I took 19 of them and this is what I got.  The remainder of the blocks are just the Dresden plates, that I will have to applique to a block myself, but I have enough to make at least 4-5 more quilts - for $5!!  Gregg says the apple doesn't fall far from the tree!  I have no idea what he means!  :))

My friend Angela from Quilts With A Heart shared this video last month on how to make a simple Dresden plate block.  She has the ruler for sale on her website.  www.quiltswithaheart.com  If you'd like to try your hand at making this Dresden plate, watch this video http://youtu.be/lcy_p4pryE4  I haven't tried it yet but you can bet I'm going to.  I have reports that it is really easy!
